The passing of a loved one is a difficult thing to accept even when death occurs naturally. When negligence in a violent motor vehicle accident claims the life of a loved one, it is even harder to accept. People cope with death in many different ways, but some cannot find any way at all to cope. This makes the initial tragedy much worse. Not only has a fatal motor vehicle claimed the life of an innocent person, it has trickled down to drastically affect one or more family members.
An outside party to a person’s grief can only do so much to help the bereaved cope. The collateral damage can be severe, causing survivors to experience a range of debilitating emotions from anger to guilt.
It is incredibly frustrating for personal injury attorneys in Georgia to witness such intense grief. We, too, are outsiders to a victim’s pain and can only offer our legal services, advocacy and support to help survivors cope. While lawyers understand that compensation is not what drives a survivor to take legal action, we support these decisions. Finding justice is one way family members can learn to cope with the tragedy that has befallen them. A wrongful death suit can provide a measure of justice for survivors.
